Opportunity available experienced Back-End Developer to join a collaborative engineering team building scalable, high-performance backend services. This is a contract, hybrid role (W2 only — no C2C or third-party vendors) offering hands-on ownership of modern microservices, APIs, and cloud-ready applications.

You’ll work closely with product managers, front-end engineers, and DevOps teams to design and deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable backend systems using Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain microservices-based backend systems and RESTful APIs
Develop scalable services using Java and Kotlin with Spring / Spring Boot
Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas and queries for performance and reliability
Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker
Collaborate with engineers using Git-based workflows and modern CI/CD practices
Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best engineering standards
Debug and resolve performance, reliability, and scalability issues
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions
Support a hybrid work model with some on-site collaboration as needed

Qualifications

Strong professional experience with Java and Kotlin
Hands-on expertise with Spring / Spring Boot frameworks
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
Solid understanding of microservices architecture patterns
Experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
Practical experience using Docker for containerized development
Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
Knowledge of backend security, performance, and scalability best practices

ITR Group offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, and 401(k) for eligible employees. The W2 pay range for this type of role is approximately $80.00 - $90.00 per billable hour. This range is an estimate and not a guarantee of compensation.
