Job Specifications

This description is intended to indicate the types of duties and responsibilities requested of the employee assigned this title. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all the duties and responsibilities that may be required:

1. Researches and resolves application problems.

2. Analyzes and refines College applications requirements.

3. Designs, programs, tests, and documents solutions to college requirements.

4. Works with the users to test solutions.

5. Rigorously applies internal procedures and policies to ensure quality work.

6. Logs and resolves software work orders.

7. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

8. Ability to work additional hours, as needed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Skilled in both verbal and written communication

• Ability to work as a team player in a multi-culturally diverse working environment

• Write well designed, testable, efficient code using software development best practices

• Microsoft .NET

• Database development, SQL Server preferred

• Accessing external data sources (Databases, Web Services, Program APIs) preferred

• Common web design patterns, particularly MVC and MVVM

• GraphQL preferred

• AJAX, HTML, CSS, CSS3, JavaScript, XML, jQuery preferred

• C#, ASP.NET,

• Web APIs, RESTful APIs and architecture preferred

• JAVA support tools such as Node.js, Knockout, JSON, preferred

• Insomnia, Postman, Fiddler or similar

• Data Transfer Objects

• Colleague Self-Service and Colleague Web API preferred

• Ellucian Experience preferred

• Knowledge of the Ethos Data Model preferred

• Softdocs development preferred

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

EDUCATION:

Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems or related field, OR three (3) years of relevant professional experience. Bachelor's degree preferred in computer information systems or related degree preferred
