Overview
We are partnering with a fast-growing organisation operating within the electric vehicle infrastructure and sustainable mobility sector. The business is scaling rapidly across the UK and is at a key stage in its growth journey, moving from an early-stage structure to a more formalised, people-led organisation.
As part of this growth, the business is looking to appoint its first dedicated HR Manager to build, own, and evolve the HR function, supporting both leadership and employees as the organisation continues to scale.
The Role
This is a hands-on, generalist HR Manager position, ideal for someone who enjoys operating in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the people function — from recruitment and onboarding through to employee relations, performance management, compliance, and culture. You will act as a trusted partner to leadership while ensuring a positive and compliant employee experience across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Lead end-to-end recruitment across the business, including job design, advertising, interviews, and offers
Partner with hiring managers to forecast workforce needs and attract high-quality talent
Design and deliver effective onboarding and induction processes aligned to company values
Employee Relations & Culture
Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, employee relations issues, and grievances
Support managers with employee matters, conflict resolution, and best practice guidance
Foster an inclusive, engaged, and high-performance culture
Performance & Development
Design and implement performance management frameworks
Support regular feedback, goal setting, and appraisal cycles
Identify training and development needs, including leadership and career progression initiatives
Compensation & Benefits
Partner with Finance on payroll and benefits administration
Benchmark salaries and manage compensation frameworks to ensure competitiveness and fairness
Recommend and evolve employee benefits to support attraction and retention
HR Strategy & Organisational Development
Align HR initiatives with business growth plans and commercial objectives
Support organisational design, change management, and workforce planning
Track and report on key HR metrics such as retention, engagement, and absenteeism
Policy, Compliance & Governance
Maintain up-to-date HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation
Manage employee records, contracts, and documentation confidentially and accurately
Champion wellbeing, health & safety, and diversity & inclusion initiatives
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor within a scaling or entrepreneurial business
Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
Hands-on, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach
Experience using HR systems and supporting payroll processes
Commercially aware, able to balance business needs with employee experience
Qualifications
Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent) preferred
3-5+ years’ progressive HR experience
