Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer | Security Engineering / Platform Security

Location:Silver Spring - MD, DC, or ATL - Techwood

We are looking for a Security Engineer to support enterprise security teams by designing, building, and maintaining shared security platforms across cloud and on-prem environments. This role blends security engineering and systems engineering, ensuring security best practices are embedded into platforms, processes, and architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Design reviews to evaluate and improve security controls
Build, manage, and maintain enterprise security platforms (SaaS, cloud, on-prem)
Implement and operate security technologies (SIEM/SOAR, vulnerability management, cloud security)
Conduct security assessments, audits, and platform hardening
Troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure in cloud and on-prem environments
Create documentation, SOPs, and mentor team members
Communicate security risks and improvements to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Must-Have Skills

8+ years in Security Engineering in complex environments
Strong scripting experience (Python, Go, or similar)
Hands-on automation (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
8+ years Linux experience
Public cloud experience (AWS)

Nice to Have

Security or cloud certifications (CISSP, AWS, Splunk)
Experience with large-scale or globally distributed environments

Hybrid/Remote options available (location dependent)
