Cyber Security Consultant

Location: Regina, SK

Work Model: Onsite

Contract Duration: 12 months to start, (1yr initial + 2 x 1yr extensions)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to support strategic cybersecurity planning, architecture, and risk management initiatives. This role focuses on designing and implementing secure, scalable architectures across complex environments while providing advisory support to business and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Provide interpretation and enforcement of information security policies and standards
Deliver cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and governance guidance
Perform Threat Risk Assessments (TRAs) for IT and business initiatives
Provide security oversight for IT solutions, services, and procurements
Respond to information security incidents and emerging threats
Evaluate new threats, vulnerabilities, and security risks
Support information security awareness and education initiatives
Translate technical security risks into clear, actionable insights for leadership

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity strategy, architecture, and risk management
Strong background in security or solution architecture across distributed environments
Experience working within formal IT and information security frameworks
In-depth knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 27002, NIST, or equivalent
Experience with DevSecOps practices and security automation
Ability to lead or contribute to major security architecture initiatives

Nice-to-Have

Architecture-related certifications (e.g., TOGAF, SABSA, or similar)
Experience supporting public-sector or large enterprise environments
