The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be one of the first engineering hires, working
closely with the founding team. You’ll take ownership of backend development, implement
algorithms grounded in complex physics, and integrate machine learning models into
production systems. You’ll also play a key role in defining best practices, setting technical
direction, and mentoring the engineers who join after you.
What You’ll Do
Design, implement, and scale backend services that power our quantum sensor solutions.
Translate complex physics algorithms into efficient, production-ready software.
Integrate and deploy machine learning models into real-world applications.
Collaborate with data scientists, physicists, and hardware engineers to bridge theory and practice.
Work with our tech stack: Python, Native Android development, and AWS.
Establish coding standards, testing frameworks, and DevOps practices to scale our systems.
Help recruit, mentor, and grow the engineering team as we scale.
What We’re Looking For
Technical Excellence: Strong backend engineering experience, ideally with Python, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and distributed systems.
Applied Science Mindset: Ability to understand and implement algorithms based on physics and scientific principles.
Machine Learning Integration: Experience with deploying data science pipelines or ML models into production systems.
Startup DNA: A self-starter who thrives in early-stage environments, comfortable wearing many hats, and excited about building from scratch.
Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with interdisciplinary teams (scientists, engineers, product).
Leadership Potential: Desire and ability to help grow and mentor a team over time.
Bilingual: Proficiency in French and English is an asset.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with scientific computing, numerical methods, or signal processing.
Familiarity with Android native development.
Background in working with sensor data, real-time data processing, or IoT systems.
Previous startup experience.
