Optomi, in partnership with a leader within the energy industry, is seeking an experienced Frontend Developer for their Charlotte, NC location!

This role will focus on scaling and modernizing the organization's enterprise design system across React, Angular, and future platforms. The Frontend Developer will closely collaborate with product designers, platform engineers, accessibility champions, and product teams across the enterprise to build, test, document, and deploy UI components. The role will leverage automation and AI-assisted development to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality across the frontend ecosystem.

Experience of the right candidate:

5-7 years of experience in front-end engineering, design systems, or UI platform development
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Angular
Experience building reusable, scalable design system components, and design tokens
Familiarity with Figma for component specifications and workflows
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks (ex: Jest or Cypress)

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

Build, test, and maintain high-quality design system components in React and Angular.
Use AI tools to streamline workflows, including component creation and documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on component development and system improvements.
Ensure all components meet WCAG accessibility standards and follow semantic HTML best practices.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for publishing, versioning, and automated testing of design system components.
