About The Role

We are currently seeking a motivated eDCT Calibration Engineer (m/f) to join our Functional Performance team. By joining us, you'll be part of a leading company that is shaping the future of hybrid transmission technology.

The Calibration (Functional Validation & Performance) team plays a pivotal role in the development and optimization of automotive systems. As part of the e-DCT transmission development team, you will work with state-of-the-art tools and methodologies to validate software functionalities, optimize performance, and fine-tune system calibrations for assigned applications.

In this role, your responsibilities include calibrating powertrain systems to ensure optimal performance and validating transmission control unit (TCU) software functions to ensure seamless integration with hardware. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support continuous product improvement, validate system performance, and collaborate on software calibration activities. Additionally, you may provide on-site customer support as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform the calibration work packages assigned to you by using our equipment and applying the correct processes.
Responsible for fine-tuning parameters, validating control strategies, and ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and reliability of the system under different driving scenarios.
Define and conduct test plans to calibrate and validate the eDCT (Electrified Dual Clutch Transmission) system under various operating conditions and using different test setups (e.g.: transmission test bench, chassis dynamometer, vehicle).
Perform drivability assessments (objective and subjective) with support from data acquisition systems.
Manage the calibration datasets of the software modules assigned to you.
Collaborate with different disciplines to solve roadblocks.
Interact and exchange experiences with customers, service providers, and teammates at various locations.

Qualifications

We welcome applications from candidates at both junior and mid-level experience.
Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or a related field, with a strong interest in automotive.
Strong automotive background and knowledge of powertrain dynamics.
A solid background and knowledge about e-Drive systems is a plus: electric motor fundamentals, power electronics, integration and calibration of sensors, motor control algorithms, thermal management, and more.
Proficient in clear and effective communication in both written and spoken English, with the ability to articulate and report results comprehensively.
A goal-oriented mindset and perseverance are essential.
You are not afraid of problems; you like to solve them.
You are independent and systematic.
Flexible attitude, willing to travel abroad and to work in either Sint-Truiden or Lommel.
Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
Good knowledge of block diagrams and Matlab/ Simulink is a plus.
Knowledge of programming languages (C/C++/M script/Python) is a plus.
Experience with calibration tools/ data acquisition systems (e.g.: Vector CANape, ETAS INCA…) is a plus.
Experience with AVL DRIVE, AVL CAMEO, AVL SPA is a plus.
Experience with AVL CRETA is a plus.
