Job Title: Senior DevOps & Release Engineer (AWS/Terraform)
Atlanta, GA 30030 (Hybrid — 2 days onsite)

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior DevOps & Release Engineer to lead cloud configuration, automation, and release operations across Georgia’s AWS environments. This role ensures secure, compliant, and highly available statewide platforms through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), automated patching, backup strategy, and certificate management.
You will collaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams to deliver reliable, well-governed cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Configuration & Automation
Develop and maintain AWS configuration standards and governance.
Build and manage Terraform-based IaC modules for provisioning and automation (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ACM).
Manage multi‑environment consistency across Dev, Test, Stage, and Prod.
Release Engineering
Support CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline.
Execute deployments, rollbacks, configuration updates, and environment validation.
Backup, Patching & Compliance
Design automated AWS backup strategies aligned with state retention requirements.
Implement automated patching workflows for cloud infrastructure.
Perform periodic audits of patch levels, configuration baselines, backups, and certificate compliance.
Security & Certificate Management
Oversee SSL/TLS certificate installation, renewal, rotation, and validation.
Ensure secure communication across all AWS-hosted services.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
Maintain clear documentation for IaC modules, standards, and environment changes.
Train and mentor teams on Terraform, AWS best practices, backup and patching automation, and certificate governance.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
8+ years in configuration management with:
Terraform & IaC expertise
AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, ACM)
Cloud backup/policy‑driven patch automation
SSL/TLS certificate management & security standards
Preferred Qualifications
Scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
AWS and/or Terraform certifications.
Government or public-sector experience.
Vendor coordination experience.
Familiarity with Agile methods and project tools.
Exposure to organizational change management (OCM).
