Job Specifications

We’re seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to be the day-to-day owner of a mature Azure environment, responsible not only for execution but for shaping how the platform is designed, secured, governed, and scaled. This is a hands-on role with meaningful influence—you’ll help define standards, guide architectural decisions, and ensure the cloud environment is reliable, compliant, and built for growth.

This role also carries strong visibility and leadership responsibility. You’ll serve as a trusted technical authority, acting as an escalation point, supporting client communication, and helping guide how cloud services are delivered in a regulated healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Own the day-to-day health and direction of the Azure environment, ensuring stability, security, and scalability.
Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure including VNets, VPN/ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, NSGs, Load Balancers, Application Gateway, Front Door, and Private Endpoints.
Manage VMs, storage, Azure SQL (PaaS), Key Vault, and enterprise encryption standards.
Lead disaster recovery, backup, and high-availability strategies, defining and maintaining RPO/RTO objectives.
Execute on-prem to Azure migrations, partnering with application and infrastructure teams to minimize risk and downtime.
Administer Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Managed Identities, and secure access controls.
Influence and implement governance, automation, and FinOps cost optimization practices.
Support compliance initiatives including HIPAA, HITECH, SOC 2, and HITRUST.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
Implement monitoring and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Datadog.
Serve as a technical escalation point and client-facing lead, providing clear communication and status updates.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
7–10 years of IT experience, including 3–5 years in an Azure-focused engineering role.
Experience supporting or leading customer-facing cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of Azure, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Intune, and Microsoft Teams.
Familiarity with incident and change management, security best practices, and regulated environments.
Ability to balance hands-on execution with architectural thinking and stakeholder communication.
