Northern Ireland (Remote-first | Belfast office available)

The Opportunity

We’re working with a well-established technology company building high-performance, cloud-based software used at scale every day.

They’re looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join a senior engineering team based in Northern Ireland. This is a remote-first role (NI residents), offering the flexibility to work from home with optional access to a Belfast office.

You’ll play a key role in shaping technical direction, mentoring engineers, and delivering scalable, resilient backend systems, with occasional full-stack involvement where it adds value.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing and building backend services and core applications
Influencing architecture and technical decision-making
Working with cloud platforms, containerised environments, and modern CI/CD pipelines
Ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and high-performing
Collaborating closely with product, architecture, and engineering teams
Mentoring engineers and driving strong engineering standards

What We’re Looking For

6+ years’ professional software development experience
Strong backend engineering background (e.g. .NET, C#, or similar)
Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code
Solid understanding of cloud-native and distributed systems
Experience working in agile, product-focused teams
Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to have

Front-end exposure (React / HTML / CSS)
Security-focused development experience
Test automation and large-scale system exposure
