We’re supporting a major international sports broadcaster on two high-profile broadcast infrastructure projects and are looking for an experienced Senior Broadcast / Media Systems Engineer to join on a contract basis.

This is a hands-on technical role, working closely with a Systems Integrator and internal teams to turn operational requirements into real-world engineering solutions.

Location

Leeds (significant on-site presence required)
Occasional travel to UK data centre locations

The Role

You’ll act as the key technical authority across one or both of the following workstreams:

1. Central Processing Platform

Build-out of a new centralised video & audio processing platform
Containerised workloads on COTS servers
Orchestration & automation via industry-standard broadcast control platforms
Ownership of detailed design, workflows, and integration alongside an SI

2. Lines / MCR Build

New MCR environment supporting live acquisition & distribution
Fibre, IP, SRT and satellite contribution
Monitoring and control using broadcast telemetry platforms
IP-based monitoring networks (e.g. ST 2110)

You’ll be involved in design, integration, testing and go-live, rather than pure oversight.

Required Experience

Strong background in live broadcast environments
Experience with IP video, compression, and transport
Comfortable producing and working from:
Schematics & system diagrams
Cable schedules
IP addressing schemes
Familiar with broadcast monitoring & control platforms
Able to read and interpret JSON / YAML (no heavy coding required)
Confident working alongside Systems Integrators
Happy operating as the senior technical decision-maker
