**OUTSIDE IR35 CONTRACT**

Duration: 3 months rolling

Location: 1 day a week office presence in Northampton

Rate: £425-£475/day (Outside IR35)

A growing Security Consultancy is looking for an experienced SOC Lead to own and evolve security operations. This role leads day-to-day cyber defence while providing strategic oversight across cloud, SaaS and hybrid infrastructure in a regulated, high-availability setting.

What you’ll do

Lead and mature Security Operations, including SOC services, threat detection, incident response and vulnerability management
Act as senior incident commander for high-severity cyber incidents, coordinating technical teams, executives and third parties
Own security operations across Google, AWS and key SaaS platforms, driving improved visibility and reduced risk
Embed security-by-design across new services, initiatives and emerging technologies
Translate cyber risk into clear, actionable insight for senior stakeholders
Support audits and regulatory requirements (e.g. PCI DSS, Cyber Essentials Plus) and drive remediation
Oversee third-party and managed security service providers
Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing cyber operations team

What we’re looking for

Proven experience leading Cyber Security Operations in a complex or regulated environment
Strong background in SOC operations, incident response, threat detection and vulnerability management
Deep understanding of cloud and modern workplace security, particularly Google and AWS
Experience working with managed service providers and hybrid operating models
Ability to communicate cyber risk clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
