The Role

Responsibilities

This position is a support role within City Hall, combining both administrative and hands-on tasks that will ensure efficient operations across the corporation. You will play a key part at City Hall by providing essential support across multiple departments. You will work closely with the Maintenance Technician, and will be responsible for:

Printing material for all departments within City Hall including Council Agendas, contract manuals, contracts and specifications
Checking toner, paper and maintaining machines in good working order
Sorting, distributing and applying postage to mail for all departments, picking up and delivering mail, and delivering Council Agendas
Oversee outgoing shipments for properly completed waybills, contact appropriate personnel for incoming shipments and maintain daily journal of shipments received
Assist with the maintenance and repair of City Hall property, building and equipment. This includes indoor maintenance work such as painting and general custodian cleaning, as well as outside grounds maintenance

Term

Please note that the anticipated term of employment will be:

May 4, 2026 – August 28, 2026

Successful candidates will be expected to be available for the full duration of the employment term.

Mandatory Orientation

Additionally, all student employees must be available to attend mandatory orientation, which will be scheduled as follows:

Requirements

Currently enrolled in post-secondary studies
Returning to full-time studies in September 2026
Valid G2 Driver’s License
Strong organizational skills, communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Hours of Work

35 hours per week
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
