About The Role.

The Engineering Internship offers an opportunity to join the McCain engineering team and gain hands-on experience in manufacturing, engineering and project management during the summer of 2026 (May through August). The engineering intern will support multiple factories and contribute to the team’s goals and objectives. The Intern is expected to gain a focused understanding of project development, project management, and engineering processes. This role provides hands-on experience in real-world engineering applications while developing problem-solving, teamwork, and professional skills in a fast-paced environment. You will learn about food manufacturing operations, strategic projects and initiatives, internal and external communications, teamwork, work with a purpose, and careers with McCain!

What You’ll Be Doing.

Review of the design of equipment and systems using corporate standards
Interface with engineers to learn about project scope requirements and incorporate corporate standards
Evaluate new process technologies to improve existing systems and resolve process and safety problems
Work with finance, production, food safety and safety to develop justifications for capital projects and prepare the Requests for Expenditure Authorization (REAs) in a timely and accurate fashion
Assist engineers with daily project tasks, data collection, and analysis
Follow safety, quality, and company standards at all times
Create and update technical documentation, reports, and drawings

What You’ll Need To Be Successful.

Pursuing your bachelor’s degree in engineering or related function
Must have strong Microsoft Excel proficiency and exceptional analytical skills and be able to work with complex data
Follow company policy for job safety
You must be able to lift 35lbs and stand on your feet for your shift
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment

The intern will be part of the engineering team at McCain’s corporate office, working directly with project engineers and project managers in the region and at the factories. The team provides a supportive team that will encourage you to do your best and provides a safe and flexible working environment that promotes work/life balance.

Compensation Package: $23.00- $26.00 CAD hourly wage equivalent, paid salary.

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
