Lead Security Architect
Location: Reading | Hybrid
About the Role
As a Lead Security Architect at Proactis, you will be defining the security posture and strategy in coordination with the head of architecture and CTO that supports the technology strategy. This security posture and strategy will then impact all IT deliveries and ensures we are providing the best possible solutions to customers and the business while securing both from harmful interference.
You will then be working with technical architects, developers, data scientists and others across the business to make sure this posture is picked up and delivered through reviewing their and you creating designs for solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Defining the security posture and strategy
Understand the current security controls and technologies, identifying strengths, weaknesses and missing items and then to deliver a multi-year plan that improves the current situation focussing on increasing customer and business security posture in a change and transformation setting.
Evangelise technology and security strategy
Work with all Stakeholders to make sure they are aware of the benefits these two strategies have and the value in conforming to them. When noticing an issue in either of these strategies then work with everyone to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible.
Support technical architecture
Support and mentor technical architects to uplift their abilities by either supporting them in creating solution designs or reviewing them to make sure they conform to strategic goals as well as best practice.
Solution design
Transformational programmes of work require a highly experienced architect to work with the business to understand the issue they are trying to solve, the options available and supporting decision makers on selecting a direction.
Secure by design
Work with others to make sure that all IT solutions have security included in their designs or legacy applications and whether mitigations are required. Work with others to explain the issues and why any measures are needed.
Threat modelling and risk assessment
Define the exploitable threats that our IT systems could encounter, which levels of risk those fall into based on the defined security posture and how it should be dealt with.
Support creation of policies, standards and best practices
Work the chief information security officer to make sure we have the right policies and how those would translate into solutions or team deliverables. Then oversee their implementations to ensure proper governance and acceptance.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills Criteria:
Over 5 years’ experience as a software developer in a security domain. Security architect of more than 5 years or lead security architect with 3-5 years' experience in change or transformation envionments.
Technical Knowledge: Expert in .Net, SQL, Python, cloud specifically Azure, observability tools. TOGAF knowledge, enterprise architecture experience, system design experience, governance, working with on and offshore teams, mentoring others.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, present ideas, and influence stakeholders.
Leadership Skills: Proven leadership skills to drive product development, foster innovation, and motivate team members to deliver high-quality products.
Customer-Centric Approach: A customer-focused mindset with the ability to empathise with users and anticipate their needs to deliver exceptional product experiences.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and business requirements.
