Social Media Associate for Interiors & Events (Contract, Full-Time Hours)
Estimated: 35-40 hrs/week | Annual compensation: $52,500+, DOE

Location: DC/MD/VA Area (70% remote, 30% on-site)
Company: Urban Chic Media – boutique, woman-owned, creative agency helping design-forward brands shine online through thoughtful content and strong brand presence.
Are you the one fluffing the pillows before the photo? Does styling a tablescape or filming a dreamy reel sound like your ideal afternoon?
We’re looking for a creative, outgoing social media girlie who’s obsessed with beautiful things—styled tablescapes, fringe umbrellas, layered linens, and all the magic that happens behind the scenes. Someone who cares just as much about capturing the perfect angle as they do about learning a client’s story (and remembering their dog’s name). Someone who’s not afraid to grab a teammate and say, “okay wait, we have to film this TikTok real quick.”
This role calls for confidence, strong visual instincts, and serious people skills. You’ll be working hand-in-hand with our clients, helping bring their vision to life online and building real relationships while you’re at it.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
You’ll manage 3 client Instagram accounts. We want someone who gets excited to:
Jump on weekly calls with the client, brainstorm creative content, and pitch ideas confidently.
Be on-site 2-3x/mo for content sessions, filming reels and posting live story content.
Help this brand grow and glow online, highlighting their voice, inventory, and stories with intention.

Deeply aesthetic. You notice lighting, colors, and storytelling in visual form
A natural communicator. Chatty, warm, direct, and fun to work with
Detail-obsessed, but chill. You’ll never miss a tag or deadline, but you’re also the one suggesting champagne at the shoot
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Writing captions and scheduling weekly content (feed posts, reels, stories, newsletters)
Strategizing quality content briefs that are trendy and on-brand!
Filming and editing reels
Attending client shoots and creating BTS, interviews, styling walk-throughs, etc
Managing daily engagement: comments, DMs, reposts, tagged content
Reporting on performance, noticing what’s working and what needs a glow-up
Designing IG graphics and Pinterest pins in Canva
Communicating with clients consistently. Asking good questions, offering fresh ideas, staying ahead

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with:
Instagram (Reels, Stories, etc.)
Canva
Scheduling platforms (we use HeyOrca)
Pinterest (basic pin design + scheduling)
Light video editing in CapCut
Project management platforms like Trello
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience managing social content for multiple brands or creators
Strong writing and visual storytelling skills
Based in the DC/MD/VA area and excited to be on-site regularly
Bonus if you love design, styling, interiors, or event planning
