For our client, Galactic, we are looking for an ambitious Area Sales Manager, willing to travel and to develop the German, Austrian and Swiss markets.
Job Description
As an Area Sales Manager, you maximise the potential of the markets within your geographical area in line with the company’s commercial strategy. You define and implement the local sales strategy, develop action plans and budgets for the countries under your responsibility and, after management approval, execute these action plans.
You monitor and support distributor activities.
You directly prospect end users and blenders in your region for direct sales.
You manage the balance between direct sales and distributor sales within your region by negotiating effective agreements with distributors, ensuring that Galactic maintains or regains a leading position in its distributor relationships.
You sign partnership agreements in alignment with management.
You also organise technical support follow-up for customers in collaboration with the relevant Galactic departments.
You ensure accurate reporting of your activities in the CRM and prepare monthly statistics to track sales performance and analyse market trends.
Main responsibilities include:
Recruiting and selecting distributors and agents through active prospecting, field visits and participation in trade fairs
Focusing on market development through proactive prospecting, customer visits, and participation in trade fairs and seminars
Negotiating and closing commercial contracts (pricing structures, contracts, budgets) and managing credit committees
Managing the distributor network: training sessions, seminars, commercial actions, monitored through distributor performance KPIs
Managing revenue and controlling budgets while maximising CCC (Company Commercial Contribution)
Providing continuous feedback for the development of marketing tools and initiatives required to grow the assigned region
Contributing to the company’s commercial policy: market intelligence, sales action plans, development of goods and services offerings
Collaborating with internal customer service and, where relevant, other departments to facilitate order management

Profile
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales role within the agri-food industry
Results-driven mindset: “Hunter” profile motivated by new market development and regional growth
Sales expertise: Prospecting, negotiation, sales techniques, quotations and smart pricing
Languages: Professional proficiency in English and German is mandatory
Digital tools: Experience with digital sales tools (ERP Navision, CRM, LinkedIn, Teams) and excellent command of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel)
Personal qualities: Strong listening and adaptability skills, competitive spirit, autonomy and strong organisational abilities. You are solution-oriented and value teamwork as a priority.
