Job Title – Senior BI & Data Engineer
Period – 6 Months

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior BI & Data Engineer to lead the modernization of our data platforms and reporting systems. This role focuses on migrating legacy SSRS/SSAS solutions to Power BI and MS Fabric, while building robust, scalable, and high-performance data pipelines. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and developers to deliver actionable insights, optimize data workflows, and ensure governance and security standards are maintained.
This is an opportunity to drive the next generation of BI and analytics platforms, combining reporting, ETL, and cloud data engineering expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead the migration of SSRS (Paginated Reports) and SSAS models to Power BI and MS Fabric.
•Develop and optimize Power BI dashboards, including DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and data models for performance.
•Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks to handle large-scale data transformations.
•Implement DirectQuery, composite models, and aggregations to optimize performance on large datasets.
•Ensure data governance, security, and Row-Level Security (RLS) are implemented consistently.
•Monitor, test, and optimize reports and data pipelines for accuracy, speed, and reliability.
•Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable insights.
•Assist with MS Fabric adoption, including data engineering, lakehouse integration, and semantic modeling.
•Participate in CI/CD pipelines for report and model deployment.
•Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices in BI, ETL, and cloud data solutions.
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
•5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Engineering.
•Proven experience migrating SSRS/SSAS reports and models to Power BI / Cloud solutions.
•Expert-level Power BI skills: DAX, Power Query, dataset optimization, large dataset handling.
•Strong ETL / data pipeline experience using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
•Experience with DirectQuery, composite models, and aggregations.
•Understanding of data governance, RLS, and data lineage.
