AB InBev is seeking a Technical Developer I Global Research Pilot Brewery for the Global Innovation & Technology Center (GITEC), in Belgium.

Purpose:

Execute and support trials within the framework of global strategic and exploratory product and process development projects. The goal is to produce high-quality prototypes for internal and external technical or commercial evaluations, as well as for small-scale market trials and launches.

Role Key Accountabilities

Understand the objectives of assigned trial requests, product specifications, and process procedures.
Prepare and execute operational trials (e.g. filtration, blending, saturation, packaging, CIP operations) in line with established ABI procedures. Note: this includes manual work such as lifting kegs and handling flexible hoses, movable equipment, and pumps.
Create process datasheets and perform calculations to meet final product requirements, ensuring full product traceability.
Perform relevant analyses to assess quality parameters and monitor, record, and report all data and observations during trials.
Apply good industrial practices and brewery standards to ensure quality execution, reliable reporting, and credible results.
Participate in kick-off meetings with project leaders to review project details, raise concerns, and confirm operational aspects before trials begin.
Identify and mitigate potential risks that could impact project objectives, timelines, or specifications.
Verify the availability, quantities, and traceability/safety information of raw materials required for trials.
Propose and support improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency in the Research Pilot Brewery (RPB).
Ensure that all equipment is functional and safe to use, and promptly report any defects or malfunctions.
Generate or update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment and processes as needed.
Assist in equipment testing, validation, and troubleshooting when required.
Contribute to the creation of test and validation plans when necessary.
Help maintain and continuously improve safety and quality standards in the RPB.
Help maintain cleanliness and order within the RPB.
Support the implementation of ABI management programs to ensure consistent and effective operations within the RPB.
Liaise with third parties (e.g. suppliers) for equipment maintenance, material information, or part deliveries.

Skills And Experiences

Professional bachelor’s degree in a relevant applied science or engineering field.
Previous professional experience in a brewery or in packaging operations is desirable.
Result-oriented with strong respect for safety, quality, and timelines; excellent attention to detail.
Problem-solving and continuous learning mindset.
Proactive attitude, actively proposing improvements to optimize processes and ways of working.
Capable of independently organizing, executing, and reporting trials.
Strong practical and technical skills to operate equipment independently and assess functionality.
Ability to interpret and analyze test results and provide clear, data-based feedback to requestors.
Skilled in writing structured procedures in standardized formats for various operations.
Experienced in creating test plans and validation programs, and consolidating outcomes into clear, structured reports.
Able to integrate and generate internal and external best practices to improve processes, tools, services, and ways of working.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and flexibility to adapt to a dynamic, fast-changing environment.
Open and transparent communicator with solid oral and written communication skills.
Fluent in English; additional language skills are an asset.
Proficient in standard software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced computer skills (e.g. macros) are an advantage.
