The Opportunity
Carrier Tech builds products for the carrier side of the Convoy Platform at DAT. Convoy is a technology-enabled freight marketplace connecting brokers and carriers. We empower carriers to find freight, onboard seamlessly, manage shipments, and build lasting relationships with brokers. Our team of 7 engineers owns the systems that drive the Convoy Mobile App, Carrier Experience, Onboarding, Performance Monitoring, Fraud Prevention, Search & Discovery, Matching, and the entire shipment lifecycle.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own substantial product initiatives and help shape the future of our carrier platform.
Candidate profile
As a Senior Software Engineer on Carrier Tech, you'll take ownership of high-impact product initiatives spanning carrier onboarding transformation, payments and financing features, mobile app modernization, DAT-Convoy data integration, and enhanced marketplace impression tracking. You'll work across our full stack (React Native, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Kafka, AWS, GraphQL), partner with teams across the marketplace, and drive features from concept to delivery. This is a hands-on role that combines technical depth with cross-organizational collaboration and mentorship opportunities.
What You’ll Do
Own and deliver substantial product initiatives across onboarding, payments, mobile, and marketplace optimization
Work full stack from mobile (React Native) to backend services (Node.js, GraphQL, Kafka) to database (PostgreSQL)
Partner across engineering orgs to coordinate work, share context, and align on technical direction
Break down ambiguous, large-scale problems into clear deliverables and communicate progress effectively
Mentor teammates through code reviews, pairing, and technical discussions
Drive operational excellence through testing, monitoring, and production support
Collaborate with product and data science teams to understand user needs and define solutions
Contribute to engineering culture and team practices
The Skills And Experience You’ll Bring
5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering impactful products
Strong full-stack fundamentals with the ability to learn new technologies quickly
