Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Client Quality Development Programmes & Major Industrial Projects team in Broughton.
This role offers the chance to develop strong experience in Quality Engineering, APQP application, Project Management, Industrial System Development, and Operational Quality Management.
The successful candidate will lead and support the resolution of complex quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and ensure robust quality industrialisation across major aircraft modifications and development programmes.

Key Objectives

Improve process performance and product adherence to standards
Increase reliability and repeatability of processes
Ensure quality is embedded from initial design through full product lifecycle
Focus on prevention, surveillance, inspection, problem solving, and adherence

Key Responsibilities

Quality & Industrialisation

Ensure full quality industrialisation of:

Major Modifications
STEP Mods
Incremental & Full Developments
Major Industrial Transfers
Enable serial manufacture at current and ramp-up production rates

APQP & Quality Standards

Deploy and apply APQP methodologies and Quality Standards
Define and implement preventative quality methods
Support modifications on aircraft and associated production processes

Risk & Validation

Support and facilitate FMEA (Design, Process, and Machine)
Create and maintain Control Plans (CPs)
Plan and execute Production Process Verification (PPV)
Support Key Characteristics (KC) and Critical Items (CTI) cascade

Production & Lineside Support

Provide lineside quality support during:

Test campaigns
Head of Version (HoV) manufacturing
Start of Production (SoP) phases

Cost & Continuous Improvement

Lead Cost of Non-Quality forecasting
Support mitigation and continuous improvement activities
Ensure quality input into all reviews (risk, planning, multifunction, stakeholder)

Governance & Safety

Support Production Organisation Approval (POA) activities
Maintain a high level of Product Safety focus

Skills & Experience

Essential

Strong Quality Engineering experience (experience prioritised over formal qualifications)
Hands-on knowledge of APQP tools and methods
Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments
Ability to work onsite and provide lineside support
Strong stakeholder communication skills

Desirable

Aviation or Aerospace industry experience
Automotive industry experience considered (transferable skills)
Exposure to aircraft modifications or complex industrial projects
