Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AWS Onsite to act as the primary technical and delivery interface between the client and offshore teams. The role requires strong hands-on AWS expertise, leadership capabilities, and excellent stakeholder management skills to ensure smooth execution of cloud initiatives and operational stability.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for all AWS-related initiatives.
Engage with client stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and delivery reports to client and internal leadership.
Technical Leadership
Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of AWS cloud architectures.
Ensure best practices in security, scalability, performance, and cost optimization.
Review and approve architecture designs, infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation/CDK/Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex AWS infrastructure and application issues.
Delivery & Operations
Coordinate with offshore teams for development, migration, and support activities.
Own delivery commitments, timelines, and quality standards.
Drive cloud migrations, modernization programs, and application onboarding to AWS.
Establish and enforce operational runbooks, monitoring, and incident response processes.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure adherence to AWS Well-Architected Framework.
Implement security controls, IAM policies, and compliance standards (ISO, SOC2, etc., if applicable).
Lead cost governance and FinOps initiatives.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Mentor junior engineers and onsite coordinators.
Facilitate knowledge transfer between onsite and offshore teams.
Conduct design reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement sessions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, EventBridge, and EKS/ECS.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code: AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform.
CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.
Strong knowledge of networking (VPC design, VPN, Direct Connect, load balancers).
Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.
Understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Proven experience leading onsite or customer-facing technical teams.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Experience coordinating across time zones and distributed teams.
Certifications (Preferred)
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
Nice to Have
Experience in Retail, OMS, or large-scale enterprise cloud programs.
Exposure to FinOps and cloud cost optimization tools.
Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
Experience working in Japan or with Japanese clients (language skills a plus).
