The opportunity

The Senior Business Analyst (Cyber Security) plays a key role in enabling Enterprise Security initiative delivery. The role focuses on understanding business needs, translating them into clear technical requirements, and ensuring solutions effectively support organizational goals. It combines business analysis leadership with cyber security advisory capabilities to guide secure solution design and execution.

Who You'll Work With

Reporting to the Director, Cyber Security, you will work within the Enterprise Security team under Technology Services. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional partners, including development, testing, operations, IT security, and external vendors and peers, to ensure secure and high‑quality solution delivery.
Facilitate workshops and working sessions to gather requirements, track progress, identify risks, and resolve blockers.
Capture, validate, and translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications, configuration needs, and functional designs.
Prioritize requirements and user stories in alignment with project milestones and timelines.
Produce high‑quality analysis documentation including requirements, workflows, current/future‑state processes, and reporting specifications
Analyze existing and future business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and model workflows.
Support testing activities to confirm that implemented solutions meet documented requirements.
Oversee defect management and develop mitigation strategies to ensure solution quality
Provide advisory and consulting services to ensure security requirements and best practices are embedded throughout design, development, and delivery
Make recommendations based on analysis of cyber security trends, threats, technologies, and good practices.
Partner with vendors to ensure solutions meet organizational requirements and quality expectations
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization, representing Enterprise Security in relevant working groups
Recommend and implement enhancements to processes, tools, and delivery practices to improve efficiency and solution quality

What You'll Do

Engages business clients to elicit business requirements and understand objectives and works with business and solution teams to ensure that solutions being delivered meet their business intent and provide business value
Conceives, proposes and facilitates the selection of viable functional solution alternatives
Produces business analysis related documentation, functional specifications, current and future state processes and workflows, and solution specifications to a high-quality standard
Identifies internal and external data sources and delivers data mapping specifications and or data workspaces to support applications and reports
Works with Data Vendor Manager and business partners, when needed, to assess data costs and facilitate acquisition of new external vendor content
Documents the flow and transformation of data from suppliers through data repositories/warehouses and to end user datamarts/applications
Provides input and influences Solution design to achieve business outcomes including detailed profiling to inform new data models whilst understanding the strategic direction of MS curated data
Understands and leverages physical data models including relational models, cubes, dimensions, facts and measures for use in reports and analytics
Provides effective business context, solution knowledge, artifact transfer to Support teams as part of progressing initiatives to Production
Demonstrates requirements traceability and, oversees User Acceptance phase of initiatives (define strategy, plan, approve test cases, lead all aspects of execution). Works with Business, Product Owner, Solution Engineering and QA to ensure built solutions meet stated requirements
Works with senior management across partner teams to define initiative scope on new projects/product developments
Leads in the initiation and planning of new projects including facilitating the definition of objectives, scope, BA approach and WBS as well as provides work estimates
Works with Development and QA teams to inform the test strategy and develops test plans and ensure they understand the business requirements and can test solutions appropriately
Works across Service and Product teams and strategizes with PMs and SDM/POs to identify interdependencies and establish delivery plans
Leads discussions and meetings to achieve desired outcomes with a variety of technical and business audiences (including senior partners).
Partners with Product Owners/Service Request Managers to delivery business value messaging to partners and sponsors
Works with Agile delivery teams to map user stories and define user acceptance criteria for work packages
Contributes to the operation and improvement of the delivery team
Exercises appropriate judgment in identifying and calling out risks and issues
