Ferretti Search is partnering with a large manufacturing organization to identify an experienced finance leader for an interim consulting engagement.

Interim Finance Manager (Consulting Engagement)

Location: U.S.-based | On-site

Engagement Length: 3–6 months

Engagement Type: Contract / Consulting

Why this opportunity

This is a high-impact, hands-on consulting role created to provide leadership, stability, and execution within the finance function during a period of transition. The consultant will operate as the Finance Manager, working closely with executive leadership and operational teams across a complex manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day finance and accounting function across multiple manufacturing sites
Own financial reporting, monthly close, forecasting, and management reporting
Partner with operations on cost accounting, inventory, margin analysis, and plant-level performance
Provide leadership to controllers and finance managers; ensure consistency and discipline across locations
Assess current processes, controls, and systems; implement practical improvements where needed
Support cash flow management, working capital optimization, and near-term financial planning
Serve as a trusted finance partner to executive leadership during the engagement period

Ideal Consultant Profile

Senior finance leader with prior experience as Finance Manager, Head of Finance, VP Finance, Controller, or CFO
Strong manufacturing background with hands-on cost accounting and multi-site operations exposure
Comfortable stepping into ambiguous environments and providing immediate structure and leadership
Proven ability to stabilize teams, improve reporting accuracy, and drive execution quickly
Experience working in PE-backed or highly operational businesses strongly preferred
Able to operate both strategically and tactically — this is a roll-up-your-sleeves role

Engagement Details

2-6 month consulting assignment, with potential for extension based on business needs
On-site presence expected due to manufacturing operations
Competitive consulting rate commensurate with experience and scope
