Fidessa Engineer

Crone Corkill are partnered with a global Financial institution who are looking to add a Fidessa Engineer with expertise in Equities Trading to join their Trading Technology team on an initial 12 month contract.
You’ll be responsible for integrating their in-house Order Management System (OMS) with Fidessa EMS and later contribute to their strategic evolution toward a multi-EMS / headless EMS architecture, supporting greater flexibility and scalability in trade execution.
Please note that this is an office based role, with the expectation that you will work from their Central London based office 5 days per week. No hybrid/remote work is permitted.
What will you do as a Fidessa Engineer?
Work on a strategic OMS–EMS integration initiative with visibility across trading, technology, and operations
Be part of the next-generation trading modernization effort, driving our transition to a multi-EMS ecosystem
Lead design, development, and deployment of the OMS–Fidessa EMS integration, covering order entry, execution feedback, and trade allocation workflows
Define and implement FIX protocol connectivity, including session setup, drop copy feeds, execution reports, and order routing
Work closely with Fidessa technical teams to establish robust API, feed, and service-level integrations aligned with internal OMS message schemas
Analyse, document, and optimise end-to-end trade lifecycle workflows, from order creation to execution, booking, and trade reporting
Partner with Front Office users, Product, and Risk/Compliance to ensure trading controls, position management, and reporting integrity
Contribute to design and proof-of-concepts for multi-EMS / headless EMS architecture, ensuring modularity, fault tolerance, and venue flexibility
What skills do you need as a Fidessa Engineer?
10+ years of experience in Equities Trading technology, ideally within large buy-side or sell-side institutions
Previous experience working with Fidessa alongside custom or vendor-based Order Management Systems (OMS) in large enterprise settings
Extensive FIX protocol experience, including versions 4.2, 4.4 and 5.0
Hands-on experience configuring Fidessa EMS integrations and managing EMS Routing rules, Wheel, FDM and other configurations
Experience with OMS platforms such as Bloomberg AIM, FlexTrade, Charles River, or custom in-house systems.
Strong background in API-based and message-driven architectures, including Kafka, JMS, or MQ-based middleware.
Demonstrated experience designing scalable EMS integration frameworks capable of supporting high-throughput, low-latency order flow.
Experience building or migrating to multi-EMS or headless EMS architectures leveraging FIX hubs, smart order routers, or vendor-neutral APIs
