About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with strong experience in Google Vault and Google Workspace technologies. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain Vault integrations and automation pipelines to support enterprise-grade data retention, eDiscovery, and compliance. This role will partner closely with Legal, Security, and IT teams to ensure reliable and compliant data governance operations.
Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and automate solutions using Google Vault APIs for archival, search, and data export workflows.
Build integration services connecting Vault with internal compliance, auditing, and security platforms.
Develop monitoring scripts and tools to ensure Vault policies align with data retention and legal hold requirements.
Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and IT teams to support eDiscovery requests and retention policy enforcement.
Implement scalable Vault workflows (exports, holds, audits) across Gmail, Drive, and Chat.
Troubleshoot Vault-related issues, API failures, and data inconsistencies in production environments.
Document Vault configurations, workflows, and automation scripts according to enterprise standards.
Stay current on Google Workspace and Vault roadmap updates to recommend platform optimizations.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
4+ years of software engineering experience (Python, Go, or Java preferred).
2+ years of hands-on experience with Google Vault administration or automation.
Strong knowledge of Google Workspace Admin SDKs and APIs.
Experience with RESTful API development and system integrations.
Familiarity with data governance, eDiscovery processes, and compliance protocols.
Working knowledge of OAuth2 authentication, Google Cloud IAM, and service accounts.
Preferred (Optional) Skills:Experience with legal or compliance platforms (e.g., Exterro, Relativity).
Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, or BigQuery.
Experience scripting for audit automation and log analysis.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Stretch attitude and willingness to learn.
