Job Title: Cognos Reporting Analyst – Legal Analytics

Location: Deerfield, IL (Fully Remote - Must work CST business hours)

Duration & Type: Initial 12-Month Contract with likely extensions - The need is for 5-6 hours per week

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate ($43.25 - $43.60), Access to Healthcare and Dental Insurance Plan of Choice. (Benefit Plans can be requested at time of submission to client)

Chamberlain Advisors is seeking a Cognos Reporting Analyst to support legal analytics and spend reporting initiatives for a large enterprise organization. This role will partner closely with legal professionals to design, build, and maintain complex reports and dashboards within the Passport system (Wolters Kluwer) using IBM Cognos Analytics.

The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on Cognos expertise, including report development, metadata modeling, and dashboard design, along with the ability to translate technical outputs into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. What You Will Be Accountable For

Design, develop, and maintain complex legal matter and spend reports using IBM Cognos Analytics.
Build advanced reports using Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio, and Workspace Advanced.
Create interactive dashboards leveraging Cognos Analytics self-service capabilities, including data modeling and blending.
Develop and manage metadata models to ensure accurate, scalable reporting.
Partner with legal professionals to understand business requirements and translate them into reporting solutions.
Diagnose and resolve data, report, or performance issues efficiently.
Collaborate with IT, data teams, and business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and alignment.
Clearly explain technical concepts, data structures, and report outputs to non-technical users.
Support ongoing enhancements and ad-hoc reporting needs within the Passport system.

What Qualifications You Need

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
5–7 years of experience in enterprise reporting, business intelligence, or analytics roles, including 3+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics (Report Studio, Query Studio, Workspace Advanced)
Proven, hands-on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics, including: Report Studio, Query Studio, Workspace Advanced
Strong experience building complex reports and interactive dashboards.
Demonstrated expertise in metadata modeling and management.
Experience with self-service data modeling and data blending in Cognos.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot data and reporting issues.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working cross-functionally with legal, IT, data, and business teams.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests

Prior experience supporting legal operations, legal analytics, or legal spend reporting.
Experience working with Wolters Kluwer Passport or similar legal matter management systems.
Familiarity with enterprise financial or legal data structures.
Experience supporting reporting for Legal, Compliance, Finance, or other regulated corporate functions in a large enterprise environment preferred.
