Who We Are

Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a Fleet Synthetic Trainer at Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Operations Planner to join the Naval Surface Warfare Command (NSWC) – Corona’s Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Operations Team.

This role is crucial in meeting the Navy's increasing demand for a Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) integrated training environment. You will provide expert operational knowledge of BMD, Aegis tactics, and Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD).

The primary goal of this initiative is to create a seamless LVC environment where all live units and virtual/constructive entities can detect, track, classify, and engage all other entities, using both kinetic and non-kinetic effects, limited only by the real-world systems' capabilities.

This position is based at NAS Oceana Dam Neck Annex and involves periodic local travel to other customer sites in Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia. Candidates must be flexible, as duties and responsibilities may be adjusted to meet evolving business, customer, and contractual requirements.

What You Will Do

Serves as Operations Planner for NCTE supported exercise/training events. In this role, the Operations Planner collaborates with the Navy Combatant Commands and other exercise stakeholders (MDA, NATO, US Air Force, US Army) for training event operational requirements and collaborates with the NCTE Operations Lead to ensure event requirements are met.
Create Project Pages to track Plans of Action and Milestones (POAM) from event planning phase through execution.
Assist with Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) inputs and build simulation scenarios based on various training objectives in support of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) events
Provide on site support of weekly off-hours exercises and attend all planning conference/seminars
Collaborate with NCTE Operations Lead and Engineering Technical Lead with validation of manning plans and event situational reports.

What You Must Have

5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
Candidate must have 5 years relevant warfighter experience in Operations support of Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) missions.
Candidate must have experience as Combat Systems Training Team (CSTT) member and/or Senior Enlisted Leader.
Candidate must have a valid US Passport for occasional OCONUS travel (annually)
Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating at various levels both within and outside of the organization.
Candidate must be familiar with MS Office
Candidate must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance
