Base $250 - 400k + Equity

FutureTech Recruitment is partnered with a high-growth, VC-backed AI company building an AI Operating System for enterprises - a reasoning engine that understands, learns, and acts across an entire organisation. The platform embeds deeply into business workflows, connecting data, people, and processes into a single context-aware system designed for high-stakes decision-making.

The company has scaled rapidly to seven-figure ARR in under six months, with significant enterprise pipeline, Fortune 500 customers, and a Series A raise underway. Backed by top-tier investors, this is a true inflection-point hire.

They’re hiring a Head of Applied AI, reporting directly to the CEO, to build the applied AI function from the ground up with significant ownership and impact.

Responsibilities

Define the strategy and roadmap for the Applied AI function
Build and lead the applied AI organisation, hiring engineers and researchers
Own development and deployment of enterprise-grade AI systems in production
Partner closely with the CEO and COO on product, technical direction, and company strategy
Design, build, and ship AI systems operating at enterprise scale
Lead post-training, deployment, and iteration of LLM-based systems in production

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience
3+ years in AI/ML engineering and/or research
Proven experience building enterprise-grade AI systems from concept to production
Hands-on experience post-training and deploying LLMs in production
Prior startup experience required; experience with multi-modal models strongly preferred
Able to hire and grow a team (formal management experience not required)
Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate
