Job Specifications
As a PL/SQL Software Engineer, you’ll join an Agile/Scrum team building and maintaining business-critical finance and risk data systems within a large, complex IT environment.
This is a true software engineering role: you’ll work end-to-end on applications that process, transform, and expose financial data used for reporting and decision-making. While PL/SQL and database development are central today, the platform is evolving, giving you the opportunity to grow into Python, PySpark, and DevOps in the near future.
You’ll collaborate closely with other engineers, analysts, and product stakeholders in a structured Scrum setup, where quality, stability, and continuous improvement matter.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and maintain software components using PL/SQL and SQL
Work across the full development lifecycle: analysis, development, testing, deployment, and support
Actively participate in a Scrum team (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives)
Translate functional and business requirements into robust technical solutions
Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of existing systems
Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing
Support production systems and help ensure operational stability
Gradually expand your technical stack towards Python, PySpark, and DevOps practices (CI/CD, automation, monitoring)
Who Are You?
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Mathematics, or a related field
Strong foundation in (PL/)SQL and relational databases
Interest in modern software engineering and data-driven architectures
Comfortable working in an Agile / Scrum environment
Strong analytical mindset and attention to quality
Able to work autonomously while collaborating closely with a team
Fluent in Dutch or French, with a good understanding of the other language
