Dekkers International is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to build and grow long-term customer relationships in the North American market. This role is centered on partnership and value creation in addition to drive new business. The VP of Business Development acts as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their brand objectives and translating them into tailored brand visibility solutions.

Responsibilities
Manage and develop a portfolio of existing North American accounts with a strong focus on long-term relationships
Drive new business acquisition and prospect development in close coordination with HQ in the Netherlands
Act as a trusted advisor, understanding customer needs and brand objectives through consultative dialogue
Translate customer requirements into customized solutions in close collaboration with internal teams
Grow accounts organically by identifying value-adding opportunities rather than short-term transactions
Prepare and negotiate commercial proposals and agreements in a customer-centric manner
Coordinate closely with marketing, design, production, and logistics teams at the Dutch headquarters
Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and forecast data in CRM systems
Monitor market trends and provide structured customer and market feedback to HQ
Profile
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
At least 7 years of experience in B2B account management or consultative sales
Experience in promotional products, branding, signage, POS, retail solutions, or related industries is a plus
A proactive builder with a strong sense of ownership, capable of working autonomously while effectively managing priorities, deadlines, and responsibilities
Brings transparency, integrity, and confidence, communicating directly and clearly while taking full responsibility for outcomes.
Demonstrated success in selling products with extended sales cycles, often involving multiple decision-makers
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly at a marketing and brand level
Strong customer focus with the ability to ask the right questions and translate needs into solutions
Creative mindset with the ability to propose innovative, customized product ideas
Strong negotiation skills focused on creating win-win outcomes
Well-organized, with the ability to manage administration, follow-up, and multiple priorities
Collaborative team player, comfortable working with marketing and production teams in the Netherlands
Flexible and eager to learn, with the ability to adapt to new products and market trends
Basic technical understanding or affinity with product customization processes is a plus
Willingness and ability to travel frequently (minimum of 50%).
