Summary
Seeking a seasoned Lead Azure Systems Engineer to drive infrastructure innovation and strategy within a dynamic enterprise environment. This role offers the opportunity to serve as a right-hand to a strong manager, providing technical leadership and strategic guidance in cloud and on-premises infrastructure. As a key contributor, you'll shape the company's long-term technology Landscape, support enterprise security and compliance, and foster growth through automation and best practices.
Requirements
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or cloud engineering
At least 2+ years in an AVP or equivalent leadership role
Extensive expertise with Azure and AWS, including identity management, networking, compute, storage, and automation
Proven leadership in mentoring teams and influencing architecture decisions
Deep understanding of virtualization, storage systems, and hybrid cloud integrations
Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Azure ARM/Bicep, or CloudFormation
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Relevant certifications such as Azure Architect Expert or AWS Solutions Architect a plus
Flexibility to support 24/7 operations and occasional travel as needed
Responsibilities
Partner with senior leadership to craft and execute strategic infrastructure plans aligned with company goals
Provide technical guidance across Systems Engineering, Azure Identity, Networking, and IT Operations
Mentor engineering teams, promote best practices, and support cross-training initiatives
Foster a culture of innovation through automation, orchestration, and modern infrastructure patterns
Develop and maintain IT architecture standards, policies, and procedures
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions
Support disaster recovery and business continuity efforts, including planning and testing
Evaluate, recommend, and deploy cutting-edge infrastructure technologies
Perform technical assessments, root cause analyses, and support incident resolution
Participate in project planning, design reviews, and infrastructure initiatives
Lead escalation efforts for complex technical issues, partnering for resolution
Promote cross-team collaboration to ensure cohesive service delivery
Perform other duties as assigned by management
