Job Title: Director of Security

Company: High Growth WealthTech Firm

Location: Hybrid, NYC

We are currently partnered with a high growth FinTech who specializes in developing investment products in search for a Director of Security to join their team. We are looking for an individual with great B2B start up experience who have scaled security orgs from 0-1 in the past.

Responsibilities:

Own SOC 2 Compliance: Lead the end-to-end SOC 2 Type II process, from control design through audit execution, partnering across teams to deliver a successful outcome.
Run Corporate IT: Manage the corporate IT environment and employee technology lifecycle, ensuring secure, reliable onboarding, support, and offboarding.
Lead Security Operations: Act as the primary security owner, handling endpoint security, vulnerability management, and incident response with a hands-on approach.
Manage Budget & Vendors: Own the Security and IT budget, making cost-effective decisions across tools, vendors, and procurement.
Lead & Mentor: Manage and mentor a small team, setting high standards, providing direct feedback, and driving measurable outcomes.

Qualifications:

Hands-on experience leading a SOC 2 audit (Type I or II).
Broad technical background across IT and security, including identity, endpoint security, cloud fundamentals, and SaaS administration.
Experience owning corporate IT operations and employee lifecycle management.
Proven ability to manage budgets, vendors, and technology procurement.
Pragmatic, risk-based decision-making mindset aligned with fast-moving businesses.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical risk into business impact.
Prior experience leading or mentoring team members.
