Innovation is in our DNA… is it in yours?

Bombardier is a global leader in aviation, creating innovative and game-changing planes. Our products and services provide world-class experiences that set new standards in passenger comfort, energy efficiency, reliability and safety. We are a global organization focused on working together with a team spirit.

Your boarding pass will include…

Several conferences, including:

Meet An Executive
Women Taking Flight

Learning more about Bombardier, including:

Bombardier Products conference
Visits of the Bombardier sites
Bombardier Academy of Learning

Many social/networking opportunities, including:

Volunteering

Our team

Advanced Aerodynamics design and develop high-quality aircraft aerodynamic configurations and provide aerodynamic support to all functions involved in the design, development, certification and support of Bombardier aircraft. Particularly, you will learn the impact of icing in aircraft design and the numerical and experimental tools used to include ice in aircraft design.

During your internship, you can contribute by:

Generating solutions using CFD and icing numerical tools.
Producing external pressure distributions, catch rate, and ice shapes, and validate numerical simulation with experimental data for different flight and icing conditions.
Developing scaling laws for catch rate and ice shapes and validating numerically and/or experimentally the scaling laws.
Designing and implementing an interface for ice‑shape scaling.

During your internship, you will learn :

The implementation of numerical and experimental simulations for the design and thermodynamic analysis of ice shapes across a range of in‑flight icing conditions
The know‑how in icing for the simulation and the development of numerical and experimental tools in an industrial environment
How to calculate collection rates and ice shapes to meet design requirements, as well as interact with external and internal clients and partners to define optimal icing conditions.

How to thrive in this role?

You are currently enrolled in a Canadian academic institution for a master’s degree in engineering.
You have theoretical knowledge in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and aerodynamics.
You have theoretical knowledge of compressible Navier-Stokes numerical methods (CFD), fluid dynamics and heat transfer.
You have experience with commercial tools for numerical simulation.
You have experience with coding in Python.
You have good communication skills in both French and English.

Boarding Information:

Location: Administrative Centre (CA)
Duration: 8 months
Flexible workplace-Hybrid

It is important to note that our internship opportunities are open to students only, not new graduates. All our interns may be required to occasionally travel outside of Canada for training/work purpose.
