The Opportunity: Senior Analyst, Corporate & Performance Reporting

Waterfront Toronto is seeking a Senior Analyst, Corporate & Performance Reporting to join the accounting team and support the Corporation’s corporate and performance reporting functions, focused on measurement of impact through KPI/performance measurement and synthesis into annual business plans, integrated annual reports and quarterly reporting.

 

This role will support environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting, particularly as it relates to climate-related risks, reporting, and opportunities.

 

This accounting-based position also supports reporting to the corporate business units (finance, legal, IT and HR), senior management team, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors. This role will work closely with the Director, Financial Management, Manager of Innovation & Sustainability, and Chief Financial Officer, as well as carrying out special projects. 

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the Corporation’s KPI framework (targets and results) to support strategic and annual plans in line with best practices and legislative mandate.
Lead development of annual operating and capital budgets and quarterly variance reports.
Manage quarterly performance dashboards (capital investments, revenues, KPIs, budgets), ESG, and risk for senior leadership and the Board.
Support sustainability disclosures using Global Reporting Index (GRI) Standards and climate-related reporting aligned with International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), in collaboration with Innovation & Sustainability.
Serve as subject matter expert on financial reporting and accounting issues, providing research and memos.
Support tri-government reporting, audits (internal, external, government), and implement recommendations.
Ensure finance related statutory corporate reporting compliance.
Handle special projects as required.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Professional accounting designation (asset).
3+ years in accounting, corporate impact performance reporting, KPI frameworks, and dashboards.
Advanced knowledge of Canadian generally accepted accounting principles and CPA handbook.
Ability to translate business drivers into performance measures, including sustainability.
Knowledge of ISSB climate risk assessment and GRI ESG reporting (asset).
Familiarity with international sustainability accounting standards and related controls (asset).
Skilled in business analytics, Power BI, BI tools, and large ERP systems.
Experience researching financial reporting technical issues.
Strong understanding of Waterfront Toronto’s vision, mandate, and sustainability initiatives.
Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Advanced IT proficiency (Copilot, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations.
Self-starter with problem-solving skills; adaptable under pressure and changing requirements.

Salary: $81,332 – $101,664 annual base salary 

*This represents the expected hiring range and does not represent the full pay range for this position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
