About The Role
The Senior .Net Developer role at MCS Group offers an exciting opportunity to work within a global technology firm based in Belfast, operating in a hybrid working environment. This full-time, permanent position is ideal for a seasoned software engineer looking to contribute to high-stakes trading systems that have a direct impact on market access worldwide. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, enhancing, and maintaining complex, scalable systems utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as C# (.NET Core), React, and SQL. You will be working closely with solution architects and QA engineers to ensure the delivery of robust, high-quality software solutions. Additionally, this role involves mentoring junior developers, leading code reviews, and actively participating in architectural discussions and CI/CD pipeline development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in software engineering with proven experience in developing enterprise-grade applications. Essential qualifications include proficiency in C# (.NET Core) and modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably React. A strong understanding of relational databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, is required. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or other cloud technologies will be considered advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a collaborative mindset, with experience working within Agile teams, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience is also highly regarded.
Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain complex, scalable trading systems using C# (.NET Core), React, and SQL.
Build cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services to ensure high availability and performance.
Collaborate closely with Solution Architects and QA Engineers to deliver high-quality, testable software solutions.
Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth.
Lead code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve system capabilities.
