Job Title: Full Stack Developer

Contract Length: 6 months (initial)

Location: Glasgow – Hybrid (3 days per week on site)

Overview

We are working with a leading financial services client who is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join their technology team on an initial 6-month contract. This role offers a hybrid working model, with three days per week required on site in Glasgow.

You’ll be part of a modern engineering team delivering scalable, cloud-based solutions, working across both backend and frontend technologies in a distributed data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications in a financial services environment
Build and enhance backend services using Java and/or Scala
Develop modern, responsive user interfaces using Angular or similar frameworks
Work with distributed compute and data processing technologies
Contribute to cloud-native solutions hosted on Azure
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, and data engineers
Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and security

Required Skills & Experience

Strong Full Stack development experience
Backend development with Java and/or Scala
Frontend development using Angular or a similar modern JavaScript framework
Experience with distributed compute concepts and tools such as:
Apache Spark
Databricks
Apache Beam (or similar)
Solid experience with Azure cloud technologies
Database experience with cloud and relational databases, e.g. Snowflake, Sybase, or similar
Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments

Nice to Have

Experience working within financial services or regulated environments
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Exposure to large-scale data platforms or analytics systems
