Principal Data Architect – Warwick (3 Days Onsite)
Contract length: 6 months initially, starting ASAP
Day rate: £500 inside IR35
Our client is looking for a Principal Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of high-quality, scalable, secure data solutions across the organisation. You’ll define enterprise‑grade architecture, guide data engineering and analytics teams, and shape the future of our cloud data platforms.
This is a senior, hands-on role working across architecture, engineering, analytics, and business leadership — ideal for someone who thrives in a complex, fast‑moving environment and wants to set data strategy at scale.
What You’ll Do
Own and define end‑to‑end data architecture for large, enterprise projects.
Design data models, integration patterns, and cloud platform solutions.
Lead the development and optimisation of data pipelines, storage, and governance frameworks.
Guide visualisation, analytics, ML, and AI solution design.
Ensure platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, and cost‑efficient.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, translating technical detail into business value.
Support Agile/SAFe delivery, mentor team members, and promote strong data culture.
Influence teams of 6–10 people (no direct line management).
Indirect responsibility for budgets up to £100m.
What You’ll Bring
Deep expertise in:
Modern cloud data platforms: Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Azure, Databricks
ETL/ELT, CDC, streaming, APIs, messaging
Data modelling: relational, dimensional, NoSQL
Data governance, security, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, SoX)
Power BI and modern visualisation tools
Azure ML, ML/AI, generative/agentic AI
Strong experience in:
End‑to‑end cloud data platform delivery
Advanced Snowflake optimisation
Complex enterprise data migrations
RBAC, access control, data security frameworks
Troubleshooting and improving complex data pipelines/platforms
