AI Software Engineer – Healthtech Startup

NYC (3 days/week in-office)

Up to ~$220,000 base + significant stake in the company + benefits

I’m working with an NYC-based healthtech startup building AI systems to remove the documentation and workflow bottlenecks that slow healthcare down. The goal is simple: make clinical operations faster, more reliable, and less wasteful.

They’re hiring an AI Software Engineer to design and scale the core AI behind this platform - developing production-ready LLM systems that clinicians can actually depend on.

What You’ll Do

Architect and scale AI/ML systems for documentation automation and workflow optimization
Build LLM-powered features (RAG, fine-tuning, prompt engineering)
Develop evaluation frameworks to ensure safety, accuracy, and performance
Translate clinical requirements into scalable technical solutions
Design and maintain data pipelines and monitoring for production ML

You Might Be a Fit If You…

Have a strong background in AI/ML engineering with production experience
Bring hands-on expertise with Transformers, Python/ML frameworks, and cloud infra
Have shipped production AI systems and made architecture decisions
Thrive in fast-moving, early-stage environments where ownership matters
Bonus: experience in healthcare or regulated industries (HIPAA, data security)
