Job Title: QA Lead

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers (manual & automation).
Design, develop, and maintain robust test automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright.
Define and implement QA strategy, processes, best practices, and quality metrics.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
Drive test planning, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
Ensure test coverage across UI, API, regression, integration, and performance testing.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
Conduct code reviews for automation scripts and enforce coding standards.
Identify risks and provide mitigation strategies related to quality.
Continuously evaluate and implement improvements in tools, frameworks, and processes.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of QA experience with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
Strong hands-on experience in test automation using:
Selenium WebDriver
Playwright
Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python).
Experience designing and maintaining scalable automation frameworks.
Solid understanding of API testing (Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools).
Experience working with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).
Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Experience with defect management and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, etc.).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
