Sr. DevOps Engineer

*Full-time*

Hybrid: 3x a week onsite in Salisbury, Maryland

Optomi, in partnership with our premier client in the food and beverage industry, is seeking a highly experienced DevOps Engineer to join their team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in DevOps, particularly within Azure environments, and experience driving the adoption of best practices. They will be responsible for optimizing CI/CD processes, improving infrastructure automation, and collaborating across teams to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
Architect and maintain secure cloud infrastructure in Azure
Automate security testing including SAST, DAST, and SCA for code, containers, and infrastructure
Integrate security controls, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks directly into CI/CD workflows
Evaluate and deploy cloud-native security tooling
Automate security operations and infrastructure provisioning using IaC tools (Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation)
Establish DevOps processes, governance controls, and operational best practices
Ensure compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, HIPAA, and GDPR
Drive automation to improve release velocity while maintaining security and reliability standards

Required Qualifications

10+ years of overall IT experience, majority in DevOps/Cloud Engineering
Strong experience building CI/CD architecture with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
Hands-on experience with Azure
Proven experience embedding security into CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code and automation
Ability to establish engineering processes and operational controls
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
