About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established international software group that operates across North America and Europe.

The organization is building a centralized Applied AI capability to support a group of companies in integrating agentic AI systems that drive measurable improvements in product value, operational efficiency, and long-term competitiveness.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who combines strong technical depth with practical business judgment. The focus is on deploying AI systems into production, not conducting research.

The Role

As Head of Applied AI, you will define and execute a group-wide roadmap for agentic systems.

You will work closely with C-level, product leaders, and engineering teams to identify high-impact opportunities and translate them into production-grade AI solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing and deploying multi-agent systems (including orchestration, tool integration, memory layers, and reasoning frameworks)
Establishing scalable standards for RAG architectures, vector databases, evaluation pipelines, observability, and cost management
Integrating LLM-powered capabilities into existing SaaS products and internal workflows
Prioritizing use cases based on measurable business impact
Developing reusable frameworks that can be adapted across different companies and tech stacks
Supporting portfolio leaders in understanding where autonomous systems can create sustainable advantage
This role blends technical architecture, product thinking, and strategic execution.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced applied AI leader with a strong track record of identifying and shipping solutions into production environments.

You likely bring:

Proven experience implementing AI/ML systems, ideally in SaaS or product-driven environments
Hands-on expertise with LLM-based systems and agentic architectures
Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases, evaluation frameworks, and cloud infrastructure
Strong backend engineering capabilities (Python, APIs, distributed systems)
Experience working cross-functionally with product and business stakeholders

You are:

Experience working in startup or scale-up environments, with the ability to move quickly and adapt as priorities evolve.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environments while maintaining focus and execution.
Confident partnering with senior executives to align organizations around high-impact AI initiatives and measurable business outcomes
Comfortable operating with autonomy while collaborating across teams
Practical and outcome-oriented
Able to balance innovation with risk management and governance
Motivated by building systems that create real-world impact
