The Role
Informanix is looking for a “Zscaler Solutions Engineer” to lead and contribute to highly complex infrastructure, security, and technology integration projects. The role is extremely technical, and client project delivery requirements will have you at the forefront of the IT industry, working with the latest tools, frameworks, and technologies. You are a big picture person, but also have a keen eye for detail, and a propensity for technological rigor. The job can be stressful at times, but you know how to manage client’s expectations.
The Zscaler Solutions Engineer role is a client-facing technical specialist responsible for the design, deployment, and support of Zscaler solutions (Zscaler Platform, ZIA, ZPA, ZDX). This role partners with our sales, engineering, and support teams to deliver secure, scalable, and effective Zero Trust network access and secure internet gateway solutions for our customers. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Zscaler technologies and lead both pre-sales and post-sales technical engagements.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
· Serve as the primary technical advisor on Zscaler products (Zscaler Platform, ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) for sales opportunities, solution design, and implementation projects.
· Conduct requirements gathering sessions with customers to assess network, security, and application architectures.
· Design secure, scalable Zscaler deployments tailored to customer environments.
· Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) deployments and demonstrations.
· Own the end-to-end deployment lifecycle, including configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and handoff to support.
· Troubleshoot complex technical issues during deployments or in support escalations.
· Create and maintain high-quality documentation (implementation guides, customer runbooks).
· Deliver training and knowledge-transfer sessions to customers and internal teams.
· Stay current on Zscaler product updates, security trends, and competitive solutions.
· Collaborate closely with Sales Engineers, Project Managers, Security Architects, and vendor partners to ensure successful project delivery
· Zero Trust Evangelism and representing Zscaler in the marketplace.
· Participate in staff “group chat” and staff meetings
· Other items as necessary
Required Skills
· 3+ years of hands-on experience with Zscaler products (strong preference for experience with ZIA, ZPA, ZDX).
· 5+ years in network security engineering, solutions architecture, or consulting roles.
· In-depth knowledge of:
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, VPN)
Security technologies (SSL inspection, CASB, SWG, DLP)
Zero Trust architectures
Identity and access management
· Experience deploying cloud-based security solutions in enterprise environments.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction and documentation.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
· Expert knowledge of Windows Server, Linux Operating Systems experience nice to have.
· Deep expertise in one or more major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
