Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Head of AI Engineering to own AI engineering enablement across Eversynced. This is an IC role with expectations at the Staff+ level reporting to the CEO.

You'll focus on 3 areas:

1- Applied AI research

- Track AI trends that matter for real software delivery: model capabilities, tradeoffs, reliability, latency, and cost.

- Stay current on developer tooling and new capabilities (IDEs, copilots, agents, orchestration, evaluation tooling, MCP integrations).

- Maintain a clear internal point of view: what we adopt, what we trial, what we avoid, and why.

2- Team enablement

- Elevate our engineers through:

hands-on trainings and workshops,
1:1 pair programming sessions,
group pairing sessions using real scenarios and patterns engineers face in client work.

- Overcome the challenge of our engineers working in client repos we don't control to roll out and standardize workflows like spec-driven development and multi-agent approaches that work inside real teams.

- Create internal resources engineers can reuse: templates, checklists, examples, guardrails, and short how-to docs.

3- Client value and product/service opportunity discovery

- Identify AI-driven opportunities that fit team augmentation:

AI enablement for their engineers (e.g. training, workflow rollout),
AI workflow audits and playbooks tailored to their constraints,
onboarding acceleration, codebase comprehension, testing quality, release confidence, incident response.

- Package what we do into simple offerings we can sell alongside augmentation - and eventually evolve into products.

Some level of travelling is expected for this role (in-person work, meeting clients, conferences, etc).

Must Have Qualifications

- Strong communication, writing and verbal.

- Experience working remotely on Staff+ positions.

- Strong experience shipping with various languages and frameworks across the stack:

Frontend and mobile development (TypeScript with React, SwiftUI, Kotlin)
Backend development (TypeScript with Node, Python)
Devops / infrastructure / developer productivity (CI/CD, Terraform, AWS)

- Strong practical AI engineering skills applied to real delivery (not just prototypes):
