Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Data Analyst with deep expertise in SQL and extensive hands-on experience working with large, complex datasets. This role will support data-driven decision-making by extracting, transforming, analyzing, and visualizing data across multiple sources. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Write advanced SQL queries to extract, clean, and analyze large-scale datasets
Design and optimize database queries for performance and accuracy
Perform data validation, quality checks, and anomaly detection
Analyze structured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for stakeholders
Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to define data requirements
Document data definitions, processes, and analytical methodologies
Support ad-hoc data requests and ongoing analytical projects

Required Qualifications

Proven experience as a Data Analyst in a freelance or contract capacity
Advanced SQL expertise (complex joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimization)
Strong experience working with large, diverse datasets
Solid understanding of data modeling and relational databases
Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis
Experience in business intelligence or product analytics
Prior work in fast-paced or startup environments
