Hours:            37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially focused Regional Sales & Development Manager to drive performance and growth across Subaru’s Southern Region dealer network.

This role carries full responsibility for regional sales results, dealer development, and long-term network success. Acting as both a strategic leader and trusted partner to franchised retailers, you will combine commercial leadership, performance management, coaching, and relationship development to deliver sustainable growth.

You will operate with an “MD mindset” for your region — leveraging market insight, creativity, and sound commercial judgement to maximise opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and champion the Subaru brand.

At the heart of the role is a clear objective: building a high-performing, profitable, and customer-focused dealer network that is Better Where It Matters.

There may also be the requirement to support the introduction and ongoing development of additional new and existing brands within the IM Group portfolio, as required.

Key Responsibilities

 

Regional Sales & Network Performance

Drive and deliver vehicle sales performance across the regional dealer network
Monitor performance against wholesale and registration targets, identifying risks and opportunities
Establish clear, measurable objectives and actively manage dealer performance
Ensure sales leads and opportunities are handled to the highest standard
Develop and implement action plans to optimise regional results

Dealer Development & Franchising

Build strong, credible, and long-term relationships with dealer principals and senior stakeholders
Support, coach, and challenge retailers to improve performance and operational effectiveness
Identify underperformance and implement structured improvement strategies
Lead dealer appointments and network development initiatives within the region
Act as the primary contact for franchise-related operational matters

Customer Experience & Brand Representation

Support retailers in delivering exceptional customer experience and brand standards
Oversee and assist with the resolution of customer satisfaction concerns where required
Ensure compliance with Subaru sales, marketing, and customer journey expectations
Act as a visible and authentic ambassador of Subaru values

 

Collaboration & Engagement

Conduct regular business reviews and performance meetings with retailer partners
Drive alignment and execution of national sales and marketing initiatives
Support regional and national events, launches, and brand activities
Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, and Parts teams

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

Essential

Proven experience within the automotive sector, ideally in a regional, field-based, or dealer-facing role
Strong commercial acumen and confidence interpreting sales performance data
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to influence senior decision-makers with credibility and professionalism
Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and digital sales tools
Confidence operating within digital and social channels in a business context

Desirable

Experience in dealer network development or franchising
Exposure to customer experience, CSI, or retailer performance management

 Travel

Regular regional travel required
Occasional UK and international travel may be necessary
