A fast-growing, well-capitalised UK energy storage platform is seeking an Investment Associate to join its team in Reading.
The business is an established Independent Power Producer focused on the acquisition, development and operation of standalone Battery Energy Storage (BESS) assets across Great Britain. Manage and review outputs from third-party technical, commercial and market advisors, integrating findings into financial models
Support due diligence processes and oversee external advisors where required
Prepare and contribute to investment committee and board materials
Participate in acquisition processes and debt/equity financing at both project (SPV) and platform level
Contribute to negotiation and execution of acquisition, financing and project documentation
Candidate Profile
Minimum 5 years’ professional experience in a transaction-focused environment (investment, advisory, infrastructure, energy, or related sectors)
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIMA) is seen as an advantage
Strong financial modelling and valuation expertise (advanced DCF capability essential)
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
Experience supporting A–Z transaction processes, including due diligence and contract negotiations
Highly analytical, commercially astute and detail-oriented
Ability to manage large volumes of information and distil key risks and insights
Proactive, self-starter mindset suited to a growing, entrepreneurial platform
Prior knowledge of the UK renewables or storage sector desirable but not essential

Hybrid model – approximately 3 days per week in the office once established
Compensation
