About the Role

Canada Pork is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director, Marketing Programs and Technical Services. This role is responsible for leading the implementation of Canada Pork’s domestic pork promotion and marketing strategy to drive demand, build client confidence, and strengthen the competitive position of Canadian pork in the domestic marketplace. This individual collaborates closely with the Vice President, Marketing, along with provincial pork organizations, packers/processors, and channel marketing end-user clients throughout Canada.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of Canada Pork’s National Pork Marketing Strategy and the Investment Plan
Develop and execute the annual marketing calendar, budgets, and performance metrics (KPIs)
Collaborate with provincial pork organizations, packers/processors, retailers, foodservice operators, and industry partners to deliver associated initiatives while providing technical service expertise to support product utilization, education, program execution, and customer confidence
Identify and develop new market development and promotional opportunities that enhance demand for Canadian pork
Lead and manage promotional programs across retail, foodservice, and other trade channels
Monitor program performance and evaluate ROI to ensure strong accountability
Negotiate and execute contracts with partners and service providers
Support cross-functional collaboration within Canada Pork’s domestic and international marketing teams

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will bring:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
Minimum 7 years of experience in retail, foodservice, CPG or meat sales
Strong understanding of retail supermarket, foodservice or CPG marketing promotions
Working knowledge of the Canadian pork or broader protein industry
Demonstrated track record of delivering successful promotional initiatives
Experience in managing market development projects
Strong negotiation, budgeting, and contract management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to industry stakeholders and leadership
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse industry groups (producers, packers/processors, distributors, retailers, and foodservice operators)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience in primary, secondary meat processing or meat cutting skills (asset)
High level of professionalism, trustworthiness, dependability, and motivation
Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to identify new opportunities and continuously improve
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)

Travel & Work Requirements

Travel is expected for this role
Home office setup in the GTA or Ottawa region
Flexibility to accommodate occasional evening and weekend commitments related to industry events and stakeholder engagement

Location: Greater Toronto Area (home office-based) or Ottawa region (hybrid work model)
