Job Specifications

Basic Qualifications

BS Degree in Engineering or STEM field with minimum of 2 years' professional experience OR minimum of 4 years' Military related experience in lieu of Degree
Minimum of 2 years' professional experience in deployment/administration of a Linux Operating Environment (preferably Red Hat)
Experience with coding / scripting / automation / orchestration platforms (such as Python, Ansible, and bash)
DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level

The Work

In this Infrastructure Engineer - Operating Environment role, you will:

Support Linux Operating Environment management and monitoring for Aegis programs, including troubleshooting and integration to ensure secure, efficient, and reliable operation.
Contribute to development, integration, and testing of computer system Operating Environment changes and updates on a quarterly cadence as part of build development.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the Operating Environment

infrastructure.

Participate in deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting efforts.
Apply automation tools and technologies to streamline system deployment.
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Support customer and corporate events and exercises to test future capabilities for the Warfighter.

Who You Are

You have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or a STEM field with a minimum of 2 years' professional experience OR at least 4 years' Military related experience. You are interested in a career where you will solve problems and develop solutions on a daily basis. You enjoy a good challenge and excel in an environment where you can collaborate with other motivated engineers. Must be willing to work onsite, traveling between multiple sites within the campus (5 mile radius) as well as be willing to travel domestically or internationally as needed.

Desired Skills

Familiarity with U.S. Navy Aegis tactical networks/systems and technical documentation and troubleshooting
Experience supporting ship network/operating environment installations and checkouts
Masters degree or advanced technical certification(s) such as Linux+ or RHCSA
Experience with Virtualization/Hypervisor platforms (preferably VMWare or Linux KVM)
Experience working in a systems/software engineering environment, using agile tools, automation, and applying best practices
Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to articulate advanced technical topics to both technical and non-technical staff
